This piece is an abstract idea of a bear. It sits on a pedestal in Ross, CA. The piece is by artist Bejamin Bufano and was made in 1971. It's in front of Ross' town hall. The bear is the town's symbol, and is on its seal.

The piece was given to the town by Mr. & Mrs. Jerome Flax. Before that, the piece was in the courtyard of Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco.
