In the opening scene showing the town of Calumet in "Red Dawn" you see this building with a crossing guard on the street with adults and children crossing to the building. It is the Carnegie Library on National Avenue in Las Vegas, New Mexico. It is across the street from the old Immaculate Conception School. The area has grown since the filming of "Red Dawn" or they blocked out the houses and buildings around the library. It is on a plot of land (like a park) with nothing around it. The only time it is featured in the film, that I can remember, is at the first where they are showing the town.
