Main memorial in park across from city high school. This place is packed during the city festival in July.
Description: A relief sculpture of an eagle carved out of brick. The eagle is in flight and carries arrows in one claw and branches in the other. The eagle is depicted in front of a circular background with stars and stripes. Part of one wing extends out over the border of the circular background. Beneath the relief is a rectangular brick base.
Inscription: Donald L. Hilton (On base, on plaque:) VETERANS MONUMENT/ARMY NAVY AIR FORCE MARINES COAST GUARD/To honor the living and to remember the dead, we, the citizens of Kingsport, pay tribute to all men and women who/have dedicated their lives in faithful and honorable service to the United State of America.
