Built in 1930, the Ideal was one of the earliest constructed for the purpose of showing talking pictures. It's spectacular neon marquee is a wonderful sight along McEwan Street.

My best source for information on theaters lets me down on this one.
According to (visit link) the Ideal is an Art Deco style theater (the marquee is a dead give away), built in 1930. It is a single screen movie theater that seats 450 people.
