The former owner was going to close this bakery in July of '09. With a handful of store fronts closed in the downtown area, the local police decided to pool their resources and keep this place open and renamed it Cops & Doughnuts City Bakery.

Playing on the cliche of cops and doughnuts with witty sayings on mugs and T-shirts, they bought the shop next door just to sell the merchandise.

After an article hit the AP they've gone international and have appeared on "Good Morning America". Soon online customers will be able to deal directly with them instead of Cafepress.com
