The Native Sons of Canada Hall in downtown Courtenay was built in 1928, when the organization was only 7 years old. It originally served as the Recreation Centre, and has also been a museum, post office, and recruitment centre. It was deemed a heritage building in the late 1980's.
Over the years the hall has hosted countless dances, weddings, meetings, and other community events. It is currently (fall 2009) undergoing extensive renovations with federal funding but will soon be ready for use again.
