In a tourist location known as America's Stonehenge, in Salem, New Hampshire, there is a display that features a sign about telling time by the sun next to a tall wooden pole and a circular flower garden with twelve markers that count off in Roman Numerals, and four smaller markers with the compass points N, S, E, and W.

The display sign goes into detail about what a sundial was, how humans probably first learned to tell time, and how the relative zenith point is behind or before true noon. What I didn't like is that it didn't really explain the set up next to it. The garden with the markers does not appear to be a true indicator of time. It is located to the east of the tall pole, meaning that any shadow from the stick would not even hit the circle until sundown. From this circle, which appeared to accurately mark the compass points, you can determine the direction of the shadow from the gnomon. But there didn't appear to be any marks for analemma adjustments or arranged in a way that would indicate them.

The circular arrangement of markers is not a really a sundial, by itself. The markers are arranged like a clock and, thus, would not properly park off the time using a shadow.
Sundial Type: Analemmatic - Vertical gnomon with elliptical dial
