Pole Steeple is a locally popular short but relatively intense climb from an old railroad bed (now a hiking/biking trail) to a bare quartzite rock peak which provides an unbstructed view from the southwest to the northeast. The elevation change is about 500 feet.
There is also a trail on the south side of Pole Steeple which links to the Appalachian Trail.
There are people of all ages on the trail, but there are steep & rocky sections - fortunately there are several benches along the trail to 'rest a spell'.
