Aquia Church, built in 1757 and the oldest active church in Stafford, Virginia, sits on a hilltop surrounded by trees with an adjoining cemetery in the rear. The graves date from the late 1700s to present.

The first actual burials in the churchyard were Hannah Maines (1838), William W. Robertson (1842), and Eleanor Robertson (1855). Other older graves were moved to the Aquia Churchyard from local cemeteries. Some of Stafford County's most prominent citizens are buried here.

The churchyard is open daily. To view a complete listing of burials, visit Aquia Church's graveyard listClick for Aquia Church graves.
