Steep rocky hills, dense woods, creek crossings and muddy ruts are waiting to challenge you at the Kansas Rocks Recreation Park (KRRP).
The 240-acre park is open to the public for a modest usage fee, and yearly passes are available. KRRP is open most Saturdays and Sundays, all year, weather permitting. Before traveling to the park, please check the website to confirm days and hours of operation for that weekend. On weekdays the park is closed. The park can be rented out by 4WD clubs, car dealers and other groups who would like to have the park to themselves for a day.
Motorized 4x4 vehicles, non-motorized bicycles (BMX & mountain bikes), and hikers are welcome on the trails. UTVs which conform to park regulations are permitted (see website). Currently there are no provisions for ATVs, motorcycles, or horses.
Stock 4x4 SUVs & pickups should have no problem on the main trail and most of the green trails for beginners. See the park map or website for blue and black-diamond trail vehicle recommendations.
Several special events are held throughout the year: Frostbite (February); Creepy Crawl Haunted Trail (October); Wheeling for Toys (December); Off Road 101 classes (Spring & Fall). Check calendar on website for details.
Picnic, BBQ and primitive camping areas are available, as are restrooms. Fire extinguishers and first aid kits are available in the office at the park entrance. Air is provided for refilling tires after wheeling. There is a strictly enforced NO ALCOHOL policy.
The park's website can be found at www.KsRocksPark.com
KRRP is owned and operated by KANROCKS Recreation Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
