In the Hyde Park section of Boston, on Hyde Park Avenue near Cleary Square, is a bowling alley that has a food counter that features some of the best ice cream in America. The icecream in this place has ranked among the top ice cream places in the country in magazines such as National Geographic, and has been visited by many dignitaries, including then First Lady Hillary Clinton.
Ron's Ice Cream is in two locations. One location, also a waymark, is in Dedham Square in Dedham, MA.
In Hyde Park, the place serves both hard and soft ice cream, as well as ice cream made products such as freezes and frappes. They serve other items for consumption such as hot dogs. There is no alcohol served on the premises, and smoking is not allowed.
The story is that Ron already had the bowling alley and had a soft-serve machine. One day, Hood had delivered mix for ice cream and not soft serve, which caused the Vice President of Hood to pay a visit. The VP had offered to show Ron how to make ice cream and the results is this operation, with Ron's own ice cream.
Parking is available in the municipal parking lot across the street and on the street (though it is very busy).
