Long Description:
Classical gargoyles originate in
Gothic architectural style, they are carved from stone and you can
find them at several types of medieval buildings, especially at
churches and cathedrals. They are rare in later architectural
styles - the depicted copper gargoyles are example of Baroque
artistic spout terminals in the shape of florid dragon heads...
The Baroque Basilica of the
Visitation of the Virgin Mary with beautifully decorated interior
and the neighbouring Franciscan Monastery are situated in small
town Hejnice, at the foot of northern slopes of Jizera Mts. in
North-Bohemian region.
