Balboa Park Miniature Railroad
The Balboa Park Miniature Railroad takes a 3-minute, ½-mile trip
through four acres of Balboa Park. The train is a model G16 - now a
rare antique with as few as fifty currently remaining. Operated by
the San Diego Zoo Department of Transportation.
Admission: $2 for ages 1 and up
Regular hours: Sat. Sun. (and school holidays), 11:00 a.m. - 4:30
p.m.
Free parking is available at the San Diego Zoo lot.
Visit Instructions:
Provide a picture of something with the train or related to the
train. Possible photos include the train itself at any location
along the route, a picture of the scenery with part of the train in
view, the kids borrowing the engineer’s hat or of a family member
with one of the miniature r.r. crossing signs. Show us you had a
good time visiting the train. If the train isn't running when you
visit get a photo of one of the miniature railway related items
that can be found in locations like this
