Gatlinburg is a great tourist/Resort town at one entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited National Park in the nation. The post office is located on US HWy 321 at an address of 1224 E. Parkway. It is at an elevation of 1439 ft. whereas the highest elevation in the GSMNP is at Clingman's Dome which is 6643 ft. For comparison the highest point in the Appalachian range is 6684 ft. on Mount Mitchell, NC.
