Long Description:
The Holy Christiana was born in England in the early 8th century
and was of Royal blood. After contact with a Catholic faith -
preacher she decided to be baptized. To escape persecution
they left the country and foraged up the river Scheldt, to moore at Dikkelvenne,where a Miraculous source sprang on her word.
The neo-Gothic chapel is dating from 1895, the small monument at the entrance of the park dates from 1913.
De heilige Christiana werd geboren in England in de vroege 8ste eeuw
en was van koninklijken bloede. Na contact met een katholiek geloofs-
prediker besloot zij zich te laten dopen. Om te ontkomen aan vervolging verliet ze het land en voer ze de Schelde op, om aan te meren te Dikkelvenne,waar op haar woord een wonderdadige bron ontsprong.
De neogotische kapel dateert van 1895, het kleinere monument aan de ingang van het park van 1913.
