The buildings on 6th street between Grant and Lincoln Avenue have changed only in details of their facades and the businesses that occupy them. "Drink Coca Cola" is partially visible in the middle of the block (111 E. 6th -- WM773K). The First National Bank building at 529 Lincoln Ave. (at the left hand side of the photo) has been replaced by the Cornerstone Bank.

Current photo taken early morning Sept. 19, 2009 as downtown York readied itself for the YORKFEST parade and festivities later in the day. The perspective is not quite the same, as the historic photo was taken from the middle of a now busy street.

Sept. 2009: This long description will expand as further local history information is posted to the web, and further related waymarks are developed.

Year photo was taken: 1928
