The Miss Veedol was the airplane used to make the first non-stop trans-pacific flight, by Clyde Panborn and Hugh Herndon. The plane took off from Misawa, Japan, and landed just over 41 hours later in East Wenatche, WA on October 5, 1931. This water tower commemorates that flight, with a painting of Miss Veedol on the side.

The water tower is up on a hill, and these coordinates take you to the best viewing spot that you can get to, on Grant Rd. The side road leading directly to the water tower is marked private. The water tower is somewhat distant, but you can get a clear view of the plane mural from here.
