There is plaque at the trail head which reads as follows: "Columbia Botanical Gardens: Construction of this park began on September 1, 1976 / Donors: Park Property - The families of A.T. Brownlow & Charles Cvetich / A donation by Eloise Way in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Irving T. Rau / A grant from the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Oregon - Heritage 1776 - 1976 / The City of St. Helens Park Department"
The trail creates a short hike of approximately one mile. It takes about 20 minutes to hike in and another 20 minutes to hike out. It does not loop around on itself.
