The Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey have been involved in the production of explosives for over 300 years. The museum is distributed amongst the buildings that were used in the production process. Set along the banks of the River Lee the museum also borders woodland that is rich in wildlife.
The attractions at the museum are:-

A theatre displaying a film on the history of the explosive manufacture

The museum is open from 25th April to 27th September (2009) Saturdays and Sundays only. Opening Times are 11am to 5pm, with last entry at 3-30 pm.
Entry charges are £6.50 per adult, children £4.00 and a family ticket £21.00 (2adult+3 children). Concessions are £5.60, children under 5 free.
