From the
Seaport Bar & Grill
he Seaport Bar & Grille, formerly the Water View Restaurant, was established in the 1980s. Eddie Phillips and Bill Renny took over ownership of the Seaport during the winter of 1996. Although both owners hail from diverse backgrounds, each had a desire to create a restaurant and bar with a local feel within a very large market.
The Water View became The Seaport Bar & Grille in 1999, also expanding to the restaurant next door, formerly Mark?s Crab Shack. This important expansion nearly tripled the restaurant?s capacity; it grew from a 100-seat space to a 360-seat restaurant, complete with several different bars and dining rooms.
The seaport district is an area rich with history and traditionally known as a seasonal location. To some extent, this remains true, however the tremendous growth of businesses in the area, thanks much in part to concert pavilions, the new convention center and more hotels in the area, has made the seaport district a hub of activity throughout the year.
