George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950) was an Irish playwright with more than 60 plays to his name. He campaigned against many injustices of his day, including the exploitation of the working class and campaigned for equal rights for men and women. He is so far the only person to win a Nobel prize (1925) and an Oscar (1938).
