Wessels Living History Farm a mile south of Interstate 80 exit 353 on Highway 81 assembled a 1920s farmstead to show what 1920s farm life was like in central Nebraska. All the major buildings are authentic structures moved from other locations. This one-car garage from the 1920s was donated to the Wessels Living History Farm by the
Kilgore Memorial Library Foundation.
It sat just across the parking lot from the library's front entrance, on a residential lot the Foundation had purchased with an eye toward future expansion of the library. The house and garage were rented for several years until the original purchase price had been recovered. Wessels Farm accepted the garage as a donation; the house was later sold and moved to a vacant lot elsewhere in York.
