The sculpture comprises of two parts; one is a figure of a man whose arms are raised and the other a striking, steel object which maybe an anchor or part of the ribs.

On the rear of the 'ribs' are some wise words 'ribs hold an old heart, harbouring the fish-quick flash, ribs hold an old heart, harbouring the flash-quick fish'.

The orientation of the sculpture is aligned with the view of the quay. The man with the old heart seems to embrace life along with the sea air so wholesome down here.
