This is the smallest Fire Department I have ever seen. There are 12 to 20 volunteers that work as needed. Talked to the store keeper next door and found out he is one of the volunteers.

Instructions for reporting a fire.
1. Go to the Fire House
2. Open the Fire Box
3. Turn the Key.
'This will turn on the siren on top of the building which will bring the volunteers running'

At least that is how it is suppose to work according to the store-keeper (volunteer) next door.

According to the 2008 Census the town has a population of 456 and 5 government employees. I guess this small Colorado mountain town doesn't really need a large fire department. The one they have fits just right.
