On the night of Febuary 14th 1955 Lt.Dewwey Durett was flying a routene training mission out of Barnes Air Reserve Base in Westfield Massachusetts when his F-94's engine failed. Lt Durett sucessfully ejected over Pelham Before ejecting he put the aircraft into a dive into the unpopulated Reservoir. He saw no explosion and just the crash so he assumed that the aircraft had crashed through the ice into the Quabbins depths. The aircraft was not discovered for over five years.
