Raceland is known as the "Sauce Piquante" Capital of the World. Usually held sometime in September, there was a Sauce Piquante cookoff held in Raceland. Sauce piquante is a spicy sauce, and variations can have the meat being chicken, turtle, alligator, shrimp and catfish.
