The steam train was built by Peter Hanton of Congleton between 1985 and 1992 and was sold to Mike and Eileen Hanton on 13 October 2000.
All of the steam trains are pulled by real steam engines and all have names linked to the tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the round table.
The railway itself it 10 1/4 gauge and the steam trains are about half the size of full scale narrow gauge steam railway.
You can get on the train and can depart at the dam of Rudyard Lake and continue on foot along a pathway which is perfect for family walk, or you can stay on the train for a picturesque view of the lake.
Rudyard lake is famous itself as it was named after Rudyard Kipling as his parents courted there. It is a popular destination for families and often hosts folk festivals and an excellent firework display on Bonfire Night.
The lake is also popular for watersports and has it's own sailing club.
The railway has its own snack bar if you get peckish on your trip. Accommodation and meals are also available at the Rudyard Lake hotel in the village.
