Deze vuurtoren, in de volksmond gekend als "Lange Nelle" is de vierde vuurtoren in de geschiedenis van Oostende en de derde op die locatie. De vuurtoren is 65 meter hoog, telt 324 treden en leidt sinds 1949 de vissers veilig de haven binnen. De lichtsignalen - driemaal lang, het morseteken van "O" (van Oostende) - verschijnen om de 10 seconden. De vuurtoren werkt volledig automatisch.
Coastal lighthouse"lange Nele" is the foured lighthouse in the harbor history of Ostend.The third on this location.He is 45 meters high,with 324 stairs.The lighthouse was finished in 1949.
The light signal is 3x long morsesign "O" for Ostend,and that evry 10 seconds.The lightower is fully automated.
