The marker for the site of George Washington's first battle is just outside the entrance to Fort Necessity National Battlefield at "The Great Meadows". This was aslos Washington's first surrender as well as his last.
Inscription: This tablet marks the site of "The Great Meadows" where Lt. Col. George Washington fought his first battle and made his first and last surrender July 3-4, 1754.
