Quick Description: Our kids renamed a section of McLean School Road, just north of St. George, Ontario, Snapping Turtle Sideroad. We placed a geocache here in honour of the good laugh we had over this one!
Location: Ontario, Canada

Waymark Code: WM7419
While out for our evening drive, we came across a very large snapping turtle in the middle of this quiet country road. We all convinced GreenThumb9 (Dad) that he should get out and help the turtle off the road before it got hit by a car. Reluctantly Dad grabbed his work gloves out of the trunk and headed for Mr. Snapper (who was right in front of our car). The turtle was NOT impressed and tried to crane his neck around several times to bite Dad, but Dad persisted (with our encouragement of course). Just as Dad got a good hold on the snapper's shell, trying all along to avoid being bitten, Mom blasted the car horn! You should have been there! Dad immediately let go of the turtle and bolted upright with a rather shocked look on his face! The three of us, still sitting comfortably in the car, couldn't help but laugh hysterically! What a sight! What a memory! To this day we laugh as we drive down this stretch of the road!

Describe what happened. Example
"Mother Blanding had made her nest between the goldenrod and bluestem outside my window late last June.
By chance we were sitting on the porch when we noticed little blandings in the same location we had seen the mother take 2 months earlier."
