The original wooden church iat this place was built in 1519, then it was replaced by a stone church in 1685, which was damaged by fire in 1737 and in 1745 the local community asked for a construction of a new church.
The new church was consecrated in 1751 and survived until today. It is one of the few Moscow churches which were not closed during the communist rule.
