The stadium was opened in 1928 and hosts the Bundesliga football club 1. FC Nuremberg which won its last titel in 2007 (DFB cup). The team colours are red, white and black. It is wellknown under the nickname "Der Club" (the club).
The stadium has space enough for about 47,000 visitors. It's also a track and field stadium as you can see in the pictures (runfield next to the pitch).
I took the pictures during the match against Hannover which Nuremberg lost 0-2 (with a shockinly poor performance of the hometeam).
The stadium is said to be one of the most beautiful arenas of Germany and has been built out several times. There is almost no spot where you don't have a very good view on the field.
It's definitely worth coming here watching a match. The atmosphere is spectacular.
