Long Description:
This is a cool lock that I like to go to and it has several things to offer for waymarkers. #1 is more waymarks. I have several in this area and a few you can get without leaving the park. The lock was built between 1905 and 1913. The capacity is about 6 boats at one time. Of course larger boats means fewer boats. I know that most of the boats that use the Mohawk now appear to me to be more recreational. There's some really nice boats that go up and down this river. Some good fishing and some history as well. This lock is also known as Guy Park Manor. There's a few larger boards with history on them that I'll post pics of. Not sure if you'll be able to read it or not. There is also a large map on site as well. So take a drive up rt.5, nail a few of my other waymarks and stop here for lunch. Happy Waymarking, Swizzle & Family
