In 1848, William Barr Caruth came to Dallas, Texas, and acquired large amounts of real estate, later donating a portion of his land for a chapel and cemetery. The land is recognized today by a historical marker and features gravesites dating back to 1850. Of other historical note, in May of 1934, Will Sparkman conducted one of the funerals of the century when his funeral establishment provided services for Clyde Barrow of Bonnie and Clyde.
Situated on 80 lovely acres with attractive trees, seasonal flowers and well-kept landscaping, Sparkman/Hillcrest provides a beautiful and quiet place to honor the memory of loved ones.
