Long Description:
Fisher's Siding School District #1200 has quite a history, as do
all rural school districts. The first school was destroyed by fire.
The one in the pics was built in 1946 and used until 1967. It is
still kept up, if only in appearances. The school is just over 1/2
km west of Renwer. Nearby, an abandoned church and unused railbed
tell the story of how things have changed in this part of rural
Manitoba. A very nice cairn shows that, although they are spread
around more than in days gone by, the people still care.
