The Lucas Paint Factory, originally called the Gibbsboro White Lead, Zinc, and Color Works, was built in 1852 by John Lucas and Joseph Foster. The factory was closed in 1978 and redeveloped into a business complex in the 1980’s. Several of the buildings were torn down, but the chimneys were left standing. No longer in use, they serve as a scenic backdrop to the walking path around the lake and the logo for the town.
