Long Description:This shelter is a waypoint, but not a destination. Five person
platform with a broken table and campfire ring. Bear cables and
water source nearby. Plenty of tent camping spots to south. Piped
spring water close.
Allen Gap is five miles to the south which is down a steep ridge
(or up, up, up if northbound - 2-3 hours with about a 2000 foot
elevation gain). Or two and half miles north to Camp Creek Bald up
on Viking Mountain, which is car accessible, but not a normal
take-out point.
