Today it is one of 31 Carnegie libraries left in the state of Missouri.
This library houses two unique pieces of art:
1st: A portrait painted by Ruth Gordon of the first girl born in the town of Marceline.
2nd: The other painting depicts the coal mining heritage of the town of Marceline and is signed "Hatfield."
