Spring Hill was settled in the 1880s by german immigrants. Today, it is a coveted enclave, in which residents enjoy a cool breeze coming to the hilltop community, and savoring a city view below.

The Pittsburgh school district has experience a 50% reduction in enrollment from its peak in the 1950s, and this school was targeted for closure recently.
