This auditorium is part of the Elm Street Middle School ( Which used to be the Senior High School some years ago). It is the home venue of the Nashua Symphony Orchestra and the Nashua Actorsingers, a theatre group. It holds special meaning for me since as a senior at this school I was part of the cast of the Senior Class Play. My name is still enscribed backstage as was the custom during those days. I was in here a few years ago and saw it was still there after more years than I care to admit.
The Nashua Symphony Association, founded in 1923, is the parent organization of the Nashua Symphony Orchestra and the 125-member Nashua Symphony Choral Society. Now celebrating its 2005-2006 Concert Season, the group's overall mission remains "to enrich the quality of life in the greater Nashua area through professional performances of orchestral and choral music, and to contribute to the music education of all ages through concerts and related activities." The recent receipt of a seventh consecutive "Gold Circle Award for Partnering in the Arts" from Governor Craig Benson for the innovative "Let's Go to the Symphony" program, attests to the success of this mission.
