Small park across the street from the Hamlet Amtrak Passenger Depot in Hamlet, NC has a caboose on display. It is part of the National Railroad Museum Display.

This caboose is coupled to a locomotive from the old Seaboard Railroad while on display for the National Railroad Museum in Hamlet, NC. This display is located on Hamlet Ave across from the Hamlet Amtrak Passenger Depot. The National Railroad Museum is at 120 Spring Street (US 74 Business) near the City Lake Park. The website for the museum is as follows:http://nationalrrmuseum.tripod.com/. Since originally posting this waymark I have become aware of more information related to this caboose. The following information is amended to reflect more insight on this little red caboose.This caboose is Seaboard Coast Line 5241.
Originally this was a wooden caboose that was built in June of 1924 by Magor Car
Corporation, in Clifton, NJ. It was converted to steel in the late 50's
according to one site I saw. Source:
