626m :: Located in Canberra Nature Park's Jerrabomberra Grasslands. Both the hill and parkland are under-described. I have failed to find any explanation of why the trig is called Mike so perhaps I should make it up. CNP's website provides no information at the time of writing. There are no signs to tell you whether dogs or bikes are allowed.
From the highway you perceive the surrounding area as rolling ground without any particular features but once you get there Mike is worth the walk.
Mike affords an interesting view into the new gaol complex and the WWII era communications facility at Bonshaw. Perhaps Mike stems from radio parlance.
There are Geocaches to be found nearby.
The rail line to the east forms the ACT boarder.
Further south (S 35º 23.033 E 149º 10.418) is Mike's mate Donald. Donald is a survey mark in a plantation to the north end of the Hume industrial estate. Despite it's location the trees and scrub provides enough protection to have a thriving bird population. Because he doesn't have a trig Donald has to live vicariously through his mate Mike.
