The trailhead is located near Owl Creek Pass. Near the pass, look for the West Fork road that follows the Little Cimarron. The road is in excellent shape up to the trailhead, but keep a sharp eye for the sign and parking lot since it's easy to miss in the trees.

The trail begins on FS-218, which goes over the ridge towards Steely Mountain. At the ridge, look for the sign indicating the trail, FS-144, to the north for Courthouse. This trail is well travelled, but steep. It follows the ridgeline up to a crumbled portion of the summit. Watch for the cairns amongst the boulders, and be careful not to stray far from the path, as most of this summit can "cliff out" on very dangerous rock.

The summit has two chunks of caprock, seperated by a tiny fissure. The western "chunk" of summit caprock is where the summit register lies.

The views of Chimney Rock to the north, Precipice and Redcloud to the east, Sneffles to the south, and the town of Ridgeway far down in the valley to the west are definitely worth the trip.
Altitude in Feet: 12154
