First opened in 1946 in the old Laurinburg-Maxton Army Airfield Hospital, the facility was a state of the art hospital for the late 40's. The need for more space was soon evident and a new facility was built in Laurinburg on Mclean Street in 1951. Additions followed in 1956 and 1965 to increase to a total of 124 beds. The facility continues to serve the community boasting a new Cancer Center, a renovated Emergency Department, and a Fitness Center.
