This benchmark is in plain view as you approach bridge. A word of caution and reminder to common sense, this is a heavy traveled road, stay inside the guard rail to visit this waymark. Parking can be done on the wide median or on the north side of west bound lane. If these directions are followed you will have a safe visit.

DESCRIBED BY NORTH CAROLINA GEODETIC SURVEY 1978 1.2 MI SE FROM LAUREL HILL. 1.2 MILES SOUTHEAST ALONG U.S. 74 FROM INTERSECTION WITH SR 1148 SOUTH AND SR 1001 NORTH IN LAUREL HILL, IN MEDIAN, SET FLUSH IN NORTH WINGWALL AT WEST END OF EASTBOUND BRIDGE OVER SWAMP CREEK, 21.1 FEET NORTH OF CENTERLINE OF EASTBOUND LANES AND 1.3 FEET NORTH OF NORTHWEST END OF BRIDGE RAIL."
