Saint Cloud (MN) Fire Department - Station 1 was built in 1988. At the time it was an award winning design and became the prototype for many fire stations built in this area in the years to come.
Station 1 is the administrative home of the Saint Cloud Fire Department. The fire chief has his office here. The Fire Prevention offices are also located in this building with a staff of 3, 40 hour/week inspectors.
Two front line trucks respond out of this centrally located station. Engine 1 is a 2002 Pierce pumper with a 2000 gallon/minute capacity. E1 normally responds with 4-5 personnel. Tower 1 is 2001 Pierce aerial platform with a 100 foot ladder. T1 will usually respond with 2-3 personnel.
Engine 18 is a back-up rig stored at Station 1. It is a 1986 Ford and a fire fighter favorite. We also have a 18 foot resuce boat, a Lund with a 50 horsepower motor. Station 1 is aslo home to a growing fleet of support vehicles, the chief's car, a pick-up truck, Fire Prevention van and a car. etc...
In the back lot of the station there is a 3 story training tower affectionately called the "shovel vault".
