The first building of this village was the rail station. A main concern at the time was to build a water tower for those who lived there and supplying the steam locomotives with water.
You can read in the tower: "ERMIDAS 1935"
O primeiro edifício desta vila foi a Estação de Caminhos de Ferro. A maior preocupação na altura foi construir o depósito de água para abastecer as pessoas que ali viviam e abastecer as locomotivas a vapor com água.
No depósito pode ler-se a inscrição: "ERMIDAS 1935"
