The welcome sign at Wilkeson, Washington is an arch that spans the highway leading into the town. In the photos there are banners strung under the sign for the 100th anniversary of the town's founding. The celebration was held on July 18, 2009. The town was named for Samuel Wilkeson, whose family was active in local coal mining.

The motto on the sign reads:
Wilkeson Coal Mines     Wilkeson Sandstone
Gateway to Carbon Glacier

Carbon glacier is on Mt. Rainier, which is nearby.
