I got the trig name wrong. It should be called YA90.
Sheaffe is a survey point (three yellow concrete guide
posts) located north along the ridge at S35º 21.570
E149º 07.137. It is still worth the walk. Sheaffe is a
more interesting name and relevant as a surveyor of
the ACT. YA90 is named after a droid from Starwars
who's scenes were all cut in the final editing.

810 metres :: Access is from the suburb of Isaacs Ridge (aprox 690 m) via Isaacs Ridge Nature Reserve, part of Canberra Nature Park.

This is a "dogs on lead" area. Has a network of fire trails through a mixture of regenerating native bush open grassland and pine plantation. Excellent mountain bike ride along straight forward fire trails. Several geocaches.

The southern end of the ridge has the survey mark "Stanley" S35º 22.829' E149º 07.513' (there is no trig).

Red Hill, Davidson Hill, Mt Mugga and Isaacs Ridge all link together at approximately the 700m contour (the saddle between Davidson and Red Hill is slightly deeper) transected only by Hindmarsh drive

Percy Sheaffe
Percy Lempriere Sheaffe (1883-1963) was born in Brisbane. He began his career in NSW and following a brief stint in Queensland, was appointed to the Commonwealth Public Service as a Senior Surveyor in 1910. He retired in 1948, after becoming Chief Surveyor and Property Officer. Upon retirement, he was made a life member of the Institution of Surveyors.
The surveying and marking of the boundary between the Federal Territory and New South Wales began in June 1910. The first section of the border surveyed was the straight-line section from Coree Trig to One Tree Trig by Percy Sheaffe which was completed by October 1910. (http://www.actpla.act.gov.au)
