The remains of Bleak House, close to the Rattlebrook, the area was once used by peatcutters and tin miners.
Rattlebrook Peat works are situated in the area around Rattlebrook Head, the site manager used to live in this house, while the peat cutters travelled by foot to get to the Rattlebrook and Amicombe Hill areas where peat used to be cut.
